A lovely New years break. In December 2025, we visited Chestnut Meadows in Bexhill. The moment you step inside the lodge, it feels warm and homely. The lodge is that large, although it sleeps 6 people, you could fit a whole football team inside!
Rooms
The first room is the largest and feels like a retreat after a long day outside. A king bed with an en suite, a neat, tucked-away bathroom with slate tiles, a walk-in shower, and fluffy towels that make it feel private and comfortable rather than fancy. Not forgetting the underfloor heating!
The second bedroom is snug and welcoming, with a double bed pushed neatly against a wooden panelled wall. Each bed has its own reading lamp and blanket, giving the room a relaxed, lived-in feel. It’s the kind of room that feels especially cosy once the lights are low.
The third bedroom is the smallest, but arguably the cosiest. Two single beds sit against the panelled wall, with slanted ceilings that make the space feel tucked away and safe. There’s a small bedside table, a wool throw, and a window that lets in morning light. Simple and quiet, it feels perfect for someone who likes falling asleep to the sounds of the lodge settling around them.
Dining
A large 8 seater table with a fully functional kitchen and all the appliances you could need. So much space for games and other activities!
Outdoor Area
A patio area, facing woodland and hills. A hot tub which was just magical and a patio set for outdoor dining in the quiet scenic woodland. What more could you want?!
Would we stay here again? 100%. The value for money is incredible and we've booked again for later in the year!
